The general studies major is both an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary program. This program allows you to explore interests by taking electives that appeal to you. As a student in this program, you will gain fundamental skills in problem-solving and communication as well as in critical reading, writing and speaking. The goal of this program is to give students the general knowledge and training they need before entering the workforce.

Northwest's study abroad program allows students to apply hands-on international experience to their own academic development. Faculty members provide short-term study programs that prepare students before, during and after the program. Two types of study abroad programs are available: faculty-led and traditional. In prior years, students have traveled to England, Italy, Greece, Turkey and Egypt!
